Note that, in technical terms, your literature is stored locally in your browser; it is NOT uploaded to our servers. This means that if you clear your browser data, switch browsers, switch computers or if you use incognito browsing, you will lose your texts.
To guarantee your privacy, we neither collect data about you nor monitor your activities in our app (your data remains in your browser); however, if you would like us to manage your library on your behalf, you are welcome to get in touch with us, as discussed in the Librarian.
Clearing Browser Data
Browser data consists of several components. Some components can be cleared without affecting your personal library, while clearing others will delete your library. Note the list of clearing options that will delete your personal library:

Clearing Browser Data while retaining your library
Browsers allow to clear cookies and site data for specific sites. If you require, for whatever reason, to clear the data from your browser, but, at the same time, ensure that your personal library remains unaffected, follow these steps:
Chrome–Settings–Privacy and Security–Clear Browsing Data–
Select all options except Cookies and other site data and press Clear data.
Go to Settings–Privacy and Security–Cookies and other site data–See all cookies and site data
Clear cookies and site data for each site individually (do not clear quotations.ch to retain your library).
Firefox–Settings–Privacy and Security–Cookies and Site Data–Manage Data
Clear cookies and data for each site individually (do not clear quotation.ch to retain your library)
Edge–Settings–Privacy, Search, and Services–Clear Browsing Data–Choose what to clear–
Select all options except Cookies and other site data and press Clear now
Go to Settings–Cookies and site permissions–See all cookies and site data
Clear cookies and site data for each site (do not clear quotations.ch to retain your library).
Note that adding quotations.ch to the list of exceptions or allowed sites that can store cookies and data on your browser may NOT protect your personal library.
Apple deletes data in the safari browsers every 7-days; for this reason, we advise you to take additional precautions (for instance, make provisions for saving your library separately) and exercise extreme care when using this browser.
